Horror is a year-long love of mine, but it’s best in the fall, aka “spooky season.” This is when everyone is in the spirit, and when a ton of horror films and games are released.
Halloween is the only holiday I really celebrate (I know, how Elder Goth of me), and I start celebrating basically as soon as it starts getting dark earlier. I started really digging in at the start of September, as evidenced by my mostly-horror recent Letterboxd watches.

My soundtrack of the season is Scott Walker’s The Drift, an album I recently discovered and am obsessed with. I’m stoked for the upcoming Creeper record (Sanguivore II) and the seemingly full-goth new AFI release (who I’m actually seeing on Halloween in Denver).
My only other real plan is my wife and I having people over to watch the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards. We’re planning on doing a whole “Oscar party” thing, but spooky. We’ll be decorating the yard soon as well. Still no 12 foot skeleton, but we have some solid decorations.

I just finished reading Frankenstein (1818 text) and started Silence of the Lambs for the first time. Obviously been playing some horror and horror-adjacent games as well. There’s plenty more to come here, and I hope everyone has a wonderful season (of the witch).
