  • World of Warcraft: Forever Beta Impressions

    Less than a week after the announcement, the WoW: Forever beta has begun, and I have been playing it whenever I have the chance. My background with Warcraft goes all the way back to the original strategy games (you can listen to me wax nostalgic on this episode of Flashback 64). I participated in the original beta for World of Warcraft and was there day one for the launch of the game in 2004. Since then, I’ve played WoW casually (Classic and Retail) on and off, relatively consistently. Despite everything, World of Warcraft is a top-5 of all time game for me, so needless to say, I was stoked for Forever.

  • You Can(‘t) Go Home Again (Questing in Midnight Rules)

    Blood Elves are my favorite race in World of Warcraft (wait, is it problematic to prefer certain races in fiction??). Nearly all of my WoW characters are sin’dorei, some of which date back to the original release of The Burning Crusade. Needless to say, I’ve been thrilled with Blizzard’s choice to remake Eversong Woods / Silvermoon City.

  • At the End of The War Within

    At the End of The War Within

    I’ve wrapped up my two primary areas of interest in the latest World of Warcraft expansion (delves and main story), and have been reflecting on the expansion overall. After a rough year, I’ve thrown myself back into World of Warcraft, which has provided a comforting escape. This is a game I’ve been playing off and on since beta over 21 years ago, and this may be my favorite era of the game.
