…and I’ve made a huge mistake.

I’m incredibly excited for the next World of Warcraft expansion, Midnight. I have the Collector’s Edition and everything!
I can’t wait to revisit Silvermoon, check out the new Delves, and see what Xal’atath’s next moves are.

I have six characters at level 80 that I could use to check out the new expansion content… and yesterday, with three days to go before early access begins for the expansion… I, like a fool, created a new character.
But hear me out.
For Midnight lore/vibe reasons I was compelled to create a Blood Elf Paladin. Between the novel Blood Ties, and Midnight putting Lady Liadrin front and center, I’ve been in the mood to harness The Light and do paladin things. As a Blood Elf.

So I started from scratch and at the first opportunity timewalked to Battle for Azeroth.

This is an expansion that I didn’t play much of at release, so there are plenty of achievements I’ve yet to earn. I’ve been enjoying using achievements as a guide when leveling alts, so I headed to Zandalar to get started. I had not played through this zone previously; so far, I’m impressed with both the environments and the storytelling.

The leveling has been fairly chill and breezy due to the many buffs available:

In just a few hours I managed to make it to level 30. This cadence will likely not last, even with the buffs. With work and life, I definitely won’t be at the level cap in two days when Midnight early access goes live. And yet, I’m still stupidly committed to this character and will deny myself the new content until I see this through.
Xal’atath can wait.
