The Quake shareware disc offered the option to register it, and other id Software games by phone. Being that this was 90s PC gaming, the software was unsurprisingly hacked and id abandoned the initiative.
Beyond the game unlocks, the disc contains a digital catalog of id wares, known as the “Shopping Maul.”
